Increase in fine rates at the CSL
The Science Libraries Sub-syndicate has approved an increase in rate of fines for overdue books. The rate had remained unchanged since 1985. From 1 August 2006, readers returning overdue books charged out for a regular loan period will be fined 25 pence per book for each working day that they are overdue.
The fine rate for overdue short loans (journals, reserve books and non-book media) will remain at 50 pence per item per working day.

Certain groups of ATHENS accounts have expired. If you still require the use of an ATHENS account please contact the ATHENS helpdesk by emailing lib-athens@lists.cam.ac.uk

200 years of science publishing now online at Cambridge
200 years of science publishing is now available online at University of Cambridge. A press release about the acquisition of the Elsevier ScienceDirect backfiles is now available.
Elsevier ScienceDirect Backfiles and Major Online Reference works in the sciences now available to University of Cambridge staff, students and library users.
Access to the resources is available to all staff and students of the University within the cam domain and off campus via a Raven login.
